About Islands of Adventure
Generally speaking the park opens at 9:00 am. Closing times vary between 7:00 and 10:00 pm depending on the season.
Check the operating schedule for 2018 for more details on opening and closing times.
Take the I-4 eastbound if you are coming from Lake Buena Vista, Disney or Kissimmee. If you are coming from downtown Orlando take the I-4 Westbound.
From highway I4 either take exit 74A (eastbound) or 74B (westbound) onto Universal Boulevard. From there follow the signs for Universal’s Parking Garage or to one of the six on-site resort hotels. To enter the parking garage you have to pass the toll booths and pay the parking fee.
Regular parking is available at the Universal Parking Garage at $22 per vehicle per day. RVs and Busses cost $25. There is also prime parking available at $35 per day.
After 6:00 pm parking is free during off peak season, except on Halloween Horror Nights.

Marvel Super Hero Island
Visit Super Hero Island for the best thrill rides of the park. See Marvel’s mightiest heroes take on the arch-enemies as the plan to destroy the world.
Join forces with Storm and Spiderman, see if you are as fast and strong as the Hulk at the Incredible Hulk Coaster and try not to let Dr. Doom take your fear.
As you walk around this island, you might just bump into your favourite Marvel character too.
On this Island you’ll find life sized sculptures of your favourite cartoon characters. Bump into Popeye and enjoy all the funny puns all over the walls in Toon Lagoon.
If you don’t wish to get wet, you’d better not go on any of the rides here.
Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls will leave you soaked and Peopeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rate Barges will require a towel afterwards too.
Skull Island: Reign of Kong
You’ll find very little here. This is Skull Island and only King Kong will Reign.
You can however tag along on a 1930s expedition of the island while Kong battles the prehistoric monsters that also inhabit the island.
Your only hope against the unspeakable creatures is the King himself. Will you make it out alive?
Want to train Velociraptors like Owen from Jurassic Park? You get the chance to meet them here and take your picture with one too. Jurassic Park is home to dangerous dinosaurs, prehistoric caves in a fun playground and fossilised remaind of a T-Rex.
If it’s a warm day be sure to take the thrilling river raft ride, Jurassic Park River Adventure. Or just relax in the shade of giant Pteranodons at the Pteranodon Flyers.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter -Hogsmeade
Once you get off the Hogwarts Express take a stroll through Hogsmeade. Pop into the Hog’s Head Pub or the Three Broomsticks for a butter beer. Forgot your wand? No worries, there’s an Ollivanders here too.
Shop for some chocolate frogs, practice your wand work and solemnly swear to be up to no good. Then go and tame a Hippogriff and join Harry on a forbidden journey through Hogwarts.
At the end of your day, take the Hogwarts Express back to Kings Cross, because no 2 train rides are the same.
The Lost Continent
The Lost Continent is populated by mythical gods, mysterious beasts and mystical wizards. This small area is home to the Mystic Fountain where you can make a wish and Poseidon’s Fury.
During the Poseidon’s Fury show you are dragged into an ancient fight between Poseidon and his evil rival.
Seuss Landing is a recreation of all things Dr. Seuss. As Dr. Seuss never drew straight lines, you will only find wonky lines and round shapes in the Landing.
This area is perfect for little kids, especially if they are a fan of Cat in the Hat or the Sneetches. The whimsical and colourful world will make your kids never want to leave.
Hop in your flying fish, jump on Cat in the Hats couch or soar above Seuss Landing to take it all in.
Rides at Islands of Adventure
The Incredible Hulk Coaster
As a test subject in a science experiment based on Dr. Banner’s research you enter the high security research compound.
When your group is blasted with gamma radiation you suddenly feel unstoppable. Hulk like power then propels you through a roller coaster ride of a life time.
The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man
Follow Spider-Man as he tries to capture the villians of the Sinister Syndicate who have stolen the Stature of Liberty.
Soar high above the streets of New York and scale skyscrapers with your friendly neighborhood Spider-man.
Doctor Doom's Fearfull
Dr Doom blasts you 185 feet (56 m) into the sky and hurls you down to earth without a second to cathch your breath.
His goal? To harness your fear during the ride and use that against the Fantastic Four. How fearless are you?
Skull Island: Reign of Kong
Kong is the King on Skull Island. He rules prehistoric creatures that your expedition group constantly encounters on rides across the island.
Kong will save you plenty of times, but will he prove to be your final enemy?
Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges
Watch out! You will get soaked! This wild water ride takes you down raging rapids and past plenty of silliness.
Join Popeye on his quest to save his best girl, Olive, from the evil Bluto.
Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls
If you are already wet, might as well go on this ride too. Part roller coaster and part water flume!
This ride is full of funny puns and visual jokes to keep you entertained while your log makes it’s way toward the final 75-foot (23 m) drop.
Storm Force Accelatron
Can you harness Storm’s power to defeat the evil Magneto? Board Professor X’s power generator to help Storm out to generate enough power to save the planet. The faster you go the more thunder and lightning you create.
Jurassic Park River Adventure
The scenic water cruise starts out innocently, but out of nowhere you are thrust into the restricted area, where the dangerous dinosaurs live.
The only way to make it out alive is the 85-foot (26 m) pitch-black drop coming up.
Take flight beneath the wings of a Pteranodon for an easy flight over the beautiful Jurassic Park.
Up this high you are perfectly safe from any dangerous dinosaurs. So sit back and enjoy soaring high in the sky.
Climb onboard the Hogwarts Express and let the train take you from Hogsmeade to Kings Cross Station in London for a visit to Diagon Alley and the Knights Bus.
Flight fo the Hippogrif
This ride takes you on a wild ride through Hagrid’s pumpkin patch ont he pack of a Hippogriff. A family friendly rollercoaster ride that swoops past Hagrid’s hut where you can hear Fang barking.
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
This amazing ride above the castle grounds uses groundbreaking techonology and a little magic. Explore the castle, meet magical creatures and have the ride of your life, during this thrilling ride.
The Cat in the Hat
Take a ride through the famous book by Dr. Seuss. You now have a chance to literally disappear into “The Cat in the Hat”.
In this motion simulation ride you see Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 and Thing 2 make a mess of things. But be sure to clean up before Mother gets home.
The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride
Sit back and relax as you take this slow ride past imaginative buildings and rides of Seuss Landing.
Pick track number one through the ABC’s of Dr. Seuss’ stories or track number two past the story of the Sneetches.
The classis caroussel reimagined. All the rides are beloved Dr. Seuss characters. And during your ride you can even make their ears wiggle, eyes blinks and their heads turn.
Don’t forget to wave to Horton the Elephant, who is carefully protecting his dandelion.
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish
Hop on your very own flying fish. You get to choose if the fish goes up or down as they gently glide around several fountains that squirt water in time with the music.
So pay attention to avoid getting wet.
Shows at Islands of Adventure
In Hogsmeade you will find a choir of Hogwarts students running around with their giant throaty frogs. Listend to them sing famous wizarding songs acapella with their croaking counterparts.
Triwizard Spirit Rally
The Triwizard Tournament is in town. And you are right on time for the Spirit Ralley. Cheer on the students from Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang as they get ready for the tournament.
During this live-action show you venture into an ancient Temple of Poseidon with your archeologist guide. Get caught up in the battle between Poseidon and Lord Darkenon and see if you can survive the fireballs, laser flashes and water eruptions around you. Will you get out in time?
Getting around in Islands of Adventure
Everything’s within walking distance
The park is laid out in such a way that you can walk around the entirety without backtracking. If you wish to move between parks, you can go via the City Walk or take the Hogwarts Express.
Staying at one of the on-site hotels?
From City Walk you can easily walk to all the hotels, the walk should take about 15 minutes. Universal also offers a water taxi service between the on-site hotels, except Cabana Bay, and the CityWalk. The shuttle bus service is however a faster option than the water taxi.
